GREETINGS FROM THE EAST   Brethren, February's first meeting falls on Valentine's Day, by tradition: this is the day we pamper our ladies...roses...champagne & chocolate...candlelight dinner...in short this day belongs to them. After conferring with some of the officers, I have decided that it will be a very short meeting. Every 2nd & 4th Thursdays and every Wednesdays they are home alone because we are in the Lodge. It is only proper that we give them this day. So let's keep this meeting as short as possible. Our year started with a big bang. Our installation was one of the "biggest and most attended", "It is a complete success", "We have attended at least 18 installations this year, so far this is the best". It is really heart warming and inspiring to hear such comments from the people who were in attendance most specially coming from some of the Grand Line officers of Maryland. The Deputy Grand Master of Delaware and his Grand Line of officers were also in attendance and they were really impressed with the turn out. To all the special people who helped make our installation a complete success. We, the officers and members of Birmingham Lodge #188 humbly thank you. Every Wednesdays, as usual, we are going to have our rehearsals, because of your dedication our floor works & rituals have improved tremendously, I thank you. As of last month at least two of our EA's were almost (85%) ready for their proficiency. With the patience and guidance of their instructors I am very confident they will be ready by mid-March if not sooner. Brethren, let us put on our thinking hats and think of ways we can make Birmingham a better Lodge. Let's make 2008 a successful & very Memorable year. With the blessings of the G.A.O.T.U., Ismael R. In conjunction with the support of our Lodge Historian, Bro. Steve Brettell, we will be starting a new section in the trestle board for Masonic trivia and the answers to the trivia questions will be presented in lodge during one of that months stated communications. This month due to the fact that our first meeting is on Valentine's Day, we will hold off the discussion of February's trivia until our second stated communication on February 28th.
